In a WSJ Opinion Journal e-mail newsletter, Brian Bolduc referred to Minority Whip Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) as one of the GOP’s “most impressive young leaders.” In the post, Bolduc is critical of two Texas Republicans who were unable to clearly explain what the GOP would do if it regained Congress. However, Bolduc praised Cantor as a “refreshing alternative.” Cantor told Bolduc, “Republicans do have an agenda ready to roll should they win the majority — it’s the one they offered last year in response to President Obama’s stimulus package. We crafted a proposal in response to the stimulus plan that would have given small businesses a 20 percent tax cut. That’d be the first piece of the legislation that I’d advocate we put on the floor on the House. Quickly thereafter or simultaneously we would put a bill on the floor which would reduce the size of the federal work force and freeze pay increases.” This is no surprise to Virginians.
