Nevada Tea Party Candidate A Fraud?

Or at least that is what many Nevada Republicans are saying about Tea Pary candidate Jon Scott Ashjian. Ashjian burst onto the political scene without any previous involvement with Nevada’s Tea Parties and many think that Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) office placed him there to steal votes from Republicans. Republican Danny Tarkanian said, “Nobody in the Tea Party knows who he is. He didn’t know any of the principles of the Tea Party.” Although Republicans are worried about Ashijian siphoning votes, it doesn’t appear that he has the Tea Party background or connections to garner a lot of support. However, a split of the conservative vote would give the embattled Reid a better opportunity to win in 2010.
