Populist Constitutionalism and Tea Parties

Everyone talks about how Tea Party movement is a “We the people…” populist movement.  However, there have been numerous other “populist” movements throughout history.  But what separates the Tea Party movement from those supposed populist movements is the devotion to the constitution, “The Constitution (and a real federal government) contains the set of principles that can unite all Americans (with the possible exception of the most radical of those on the left, who want to see some kind of socialist central state).”
