RPV: Charlie’s Virginia Angels Should Give Back The Money
Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Pat Mullins is calling for Virginia Democratic Representatives Tom Perriello, Gerry Connolly, and Glenn Nye to return the contributions they received from embattled Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY). Rangel is currently under intense heat for several ethics scandals, which have caused him to temporarily step down as Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. Pretty funny title from the RPV.
Update: Rep. Tom Perriello (D-VA) will donate the $7,000 that Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-VA) gave his campaign to charity. Perriello also called for Rangel to give us his gavel as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

RPV Chairman Pat Mullins calls on “Charlie’s Virginia Angels” to return dirty money, announces new web video. RPV Chairman Pat Mullins issued the following statement: “Rep. Charlie Rangel has had ethics issues for a long time, but the allegations that came to light last year were truly extraordinary,” said Mullins. “Rangel conveniently ‘forgot’ to tell the IRS about the money he got from renting out his Caribbean villa. That’s a no-no for anyone, but it’s especially bad for the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee – the body that writes our country’s tax laws.” “When Republicans tried to hold Rangel accountable, Charlie’s three Virginia angels – Representatives Tom Perriello, Glenn Nye, and Gerry Connolly – rode to his rescue on the floor of the House of Representatives,” he said. “They had a good reason. All three have taken thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Rangel and his leadership PAC.” “Rangel’s announcement this morning that he’s ‘temporarily’ giving up his gavel shows just how serious these ethical breaches are,” Mullins said. “It also makes the behavior of his three angels all the more inexcusable.” “Late last year, the public found out that Rangel had been breaking House gift rules by taking free trips to the Caribbean. The ethical breaches were so bad that not even the Democrat-lead House could turn a blind eye and sent the issue to the House Ethics Committee. And yet our three freshmen have yet to even acknowledge that their benefactor has done anything wrong.” “And finally just last week the House Ethics Committee admonished Rangel for his ethical lapses and there was quite a debate taking place overnight last night and this morning about whether or not Charlie Rangel will remain Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.” “That’s why we’re launching a new web ad today, titled ‘Most Ethical Ever,’ to let folks in the 2nd, 5th and 11th Congressional districts know that their members of Congress are listening to Charlie Rangel’s checkbook more than the voters they are supposed to represent.” “Now that even the Democratically controlled Ethics Committee has admonished Rangel for his antics, it’s time for Charlie’s three Virginia angels to give back his tainted campaign contributions and vote to remove him from the Chairmanship of the House Ways and Means Committee,” Mullins said. “Virginians need to know that their elected representatives haven’t been bought and paid for by a corrupt politician.” Congressman Glenn Nye’s contributions from Rep. Charlie Rangel (Total: $14,000) • $2,000 from Rangel for Congress on June 9, 2008 • $5,000 from Rangel’s leadership PAC “National Leadership PAC” on June 9, 2008 • $2,000 from Rangel for Congress on June 30, 2008 • $5,000 from Rangel’s leadership PAC “National Leadership PAC” on June 30, 2008 Congressman Tom Perriello’s contributions from Rep. Charlie Rangel (Total: $7,000) • $2,000 from Rangel for Congress on June 20, 2008 • $5,000 from Rangel’s leadership PAC “National Leadership PAC” on June 25, 2008 Congressman Gerry Connolly’s contributions from Rep. Charlie Rangel (Total: $7,000) • $2,000 from Rangel for Congress on June 24, 2008 • $5,000 from Rangel’s leadership PAC “National Leadership PAC” on June 25, 2008

I’ve also asked all recipients of Sun Healthcare Group Inc’s Political Action Committee to return the blood money -those donations came from ill-gotten gains when Sun violated a Calif state injunction by under staffing and using known broken equipment, killing patients including my mother, Evelyn Calvert, in 2003, in a Newport Beach, Calif skilled nursing facility. The Attorney General refused to prosecute Sun and I suspect corruption. I have asked the Governor to investigate. I was also cheated out of compensation for my mother’s wrongful death and the pain & suffering she endured for nine months after suffering a stroke rendering her unable to swallow the final nine months of her life. This, because I was threatened in mediation by a former, late, corrupt attorney Daniel Leipold, who told me the CEO had a message just for me, I wasn’t getting the keys to his Bentley. And that if I forced the case to a jury trial I’d be harmed. We could prove the CEO and Risk Manager’s willful misconduct and gross negligence in her death. That would have made us eligible for treble damages, triple the amount awarded. Five patients deaths at $9 Million each, was a HUGE liability for Sun, yet the CEO never shared that with his partners nor the S.E.C. That again was perjury by the CEO.
Honor my mother please and return that blood money they so generously gave you.
